Project Zomboid (Build 42)

Project Zomboid (Build 42)

Project Zomboid server, Build 42. The current stable release since July 2026, with its reworked crafting, animations and expanded map. Your own persistent world, up whenever you want it.

  • Deploys automatically after payment and updates itself from Steam on startup.

  • Appears in the in-game Steam server browser on its own, with no extra setup.

  • Mods and world settings from the panel. Search the Steam Workshop, add mods by ID or URL, and tune your sandbox rules (zombie population, loot, XP) from a proper form instead of editing files by hand.

  • Memory tuning done for you. The server sizes its Java memory to the plan you pick, so it does not choke on startup. If you like doing it yourself, there is a page in the panel to set the heap and garbage collector by hand.

  • Live console, file manager, SFTP access, one backup slot and 15 GB of disk included.

  • Choosing your size: Zomboid leans much harder on one CPU core than on having many, so RAM is what usually matters most. We recommend 6 GB for smooth performance with a small group and a light modlist. 4 GB works too (for 1–2 player worlds) but leaves less headroom, so performance may not be as consistent. Go higher for a busier server or a heavier set of mods.

  • Upgrade RAM or cores later without losing your world.

How it works: after checkout your server provisions on its own. Head to the panel to grab your connection address, manage your files and watch the live console.

Server memory — 6 GB recommended. 4 GB works for 1-2 players but may not give the smoothest performance.
